The Commission Process

1. Initial conversation:
   Share the idea, intended setting, approximate dimensions,
   preferred medium and desired timescale.
2. Concept development:
   Carlos develops the artistic direction, considering subject,
   composition, material, scale and the relationship between the
   commission and his wider practice.
3. Proposal and agreement:
   Where appropriate, the scope, price, schedule, delivery arrangements
   and any specific usage or licensing requirements are agreed before
   work begins.
4. Creation:
   The artwork develops through Carlos Simpson’s studio practice,
   with agreed communication or review points where relevant.
5. Completion and delivery:
   The completed artwork is signed and supplied with appropriate
   documentation confirming authorship and details of the work.
   Delivery or collection arrangements are agreed according to the
   artwork and destination.

relationship between the individual and society.
